Traditional connectors just don’t have the ability to transfer energy efficiently due to resistance and poor design. This resistance keeps the battery’s full potential from being delivered to the motor and results in unnecessary heat build-up. But the special Traxxas High-Current Connector is specially designed for today’s high-output power systems that run on high-capacity NiMh and LiPo batteries. With the Traxxas High-Current Connector, power loss due to resistance is a thing of the past.

Also responsible for the Rustler’s scary-fast speeds are the motor and ESC. The Velineon 3500 Brushless Motor uses a sensorless design that receives input from the technologically sophisticated circuitry in the VXL-3s ESC to give precision punch on the throttle and smooth operation run after run. And, you can vary your set-up based on what you’re doing or on what level you're at. The 3 drive profiles available are: Sport, Race, and Training. The training mode is perfect for beginners as it limits the throttle to 50% total power output, giving new racers a chance to learn to drive and handle their truck before making it jump, fly, and zip down the straight-aways.



If you’re going to have all of that power, you have to have a transmission and drive-train that can handle the extreme loads. The Rustler VXL is perfectly equipped with features such as its advanced Revo-spec Torque-Control slipper clutch, added steel gears to the transmission, rigid chassis, larger rubber-sealed ball-bearings, and precision metal turnbuckle links. Other sturdy features are the high-grade hex hardware used throughout and a digital high-torque steering servo for super-quick steering response.
