RC Hobby Explosion has been the official battery supplier of Nikko batteries since their American distribution center went out of business in 2008. Some of the original Nikko battery packs, such as the 7.2V NiCd plug-in version, have now sold out. Not to worry, though, as we have teamed with a top NiCd battery manufacturer to provide our Nikko battery customers an RC Hobby Explosion 7.2V battery that has comparable specs, size, voltage, run-time and shape as the original Nikko 7.2V plug-in battery (Nikko #1272). In fact, this battery has a nice advantage as it comes with slightly longer AWG wire leads and a higher mAh capacity for longer run-times.

Nikko battery substitution.
I just wanted to say that the R.C.Hobby Explosion Team is definitely on top of their game..Thank you a thousand times over for your online tech info.it really did h elp me out alot in determining the best product to buy. It does meet anyones budget who is new to this or has been into RCs for awhile..Again thank you
