This is the HPI Savage XL 5.9 GTXL-6 RTR 1/8 Nitro Monster Truck 4WD. The smoke, the noise - Nothing beats NITRO and that's why HPI continues to go all out for our Internal Combustion fans! The XL has XtraLong TVP chassis, XtraLong wheelbase, XtraLarge stance and XtraLarge 5.9cc engine. It’s based on the nearly indestructible Savage X chassis but features XtraLarge 3mm TVP chassis and engine plates, XtraLarge F5.9 Nitro Star engine, XtraLarge axle extenders and an XtraLarge GTXL-6 body with an all-new look, the Savage XL is ready to rock and roll over any kind of terrain!
The Savage XL 5.9 has the same NEW features as the Savage X 4.6 GT-6 including 17mm Aluminum Hex Hubs, all hex hardware, new bumpers, new body, wheels & tires, Super HD Drivetrain (From the Savage FLUX), new Captured Hinge Pins, HD Servo Saver spring and a new RF-50N Nitro Receiver. Returning on the Savage XL 5.9 is the 3-speed gearbox, steel spur gear and racing heavy duty clutchbell, 3-Shoe Aluminum Clutch and the new Rotostart 3 system for starting that monster F5.9 Nitro Star engine! BIG BORE NYLON SHOCKS
Four huge XL-size Big Bore shocks give all the suspension action you need to get out and blast through the roughest of tracks or off-road terrain. With slick nylon bodies they are lightweight and strong, with almost no friction 'stiction' between the shock piston and shock body. The extra-large capacity gives you extra control and damping action so you have the driving feel that makes off-road driving so much fun!
TOUGH SAVAGE SUSPENSION
After almost 2 decades of seriously thrilling RC bashing performance, the HPI Savage has earned a reputation for being the toughest monster truck you can find. The Savage suspension has evolved along the way as well. The New Savage XL 5.9 GTXL-6 features the latest ultra-tough, super-thick webbed suspension arms and uprights that can take a barrage of abuse and punishment, giving you plenty of big-air thrills in their stride.
THREE SPEED TRANSMISSION
The Savage XL features the Savage 3-speed transmission to get the most out of the F5.9 engine. This gives you the best acceleration and top speed possible, getting all the power efficiently to the ground for maximum fun and enjoyment! The transmission is fully adjustable, too, so you can choose how early or late the XL will shift into higher gear!
NITRO STAR F5.9 ENGINE
At the heart of the Savage XL is the monstrous Nitro Star F5.9 engine! This 5.9cc (.36 cubic inch) powerplant gives the XL loads of torque and the muscle to power over obstacles and through the toughest terrain and conditions. The low powerband supplies the torque for getting the XL up to speed fast, and the curved manifold and aluminum tuned pipe get the most power out of the engine. The F5.9 is also fitted with a Roto-Start 3 for easy starting, a vented heavy-duty clutchbell, an aluminum 3-shoe clutch for tough and reliable power transfer, and a new heatsink design with larger heatsink fins for improved cooling.
